Ich habe schon öfter Floristen und Dekorateure getroffen, die es lieben, Stiegenaufgänge zu dekorieren. Klar, je mehr Deko, desto mehr verdienen die Dekorateure. Außerdem ist es so romantisch, wenn der Stiegenaufgang dekoriert ist. Ein paar Blumen am Handlauf, Herzerl die an der Mauer herabhängen. Wunderschön! Ich geb's zu. Außerdem stört auch alles weiter nicht. 

Aber dann, der ultimative Romantik Effekt. Tatatatataaa, Kerzen! Kerzen auf den Treppen. Wunderschön, und erst wenn es dann dunkel ist. Ein Spalier aus flackerndem Licht. Auf Fotos sieht das immer so toll aus. Trotzdem bin ich strickt dagegen! Wieso? Wegen dem Brautkleid! 

Der Reifrock, die zehntausenden Lagen aus feinstem Tüll, Satin, Seide etc. Ich habe noch keine Braut erlebt, die entspannt die Stiegen hinauf geschwebt ist, wenn links und rechts ein Spalier aus Kerzen wartet. Ich sehe dann eher ängstliche Gesichter, die hektischen Versuche das Kleid zusammenzuraffen und vorsichtige Schritte die Stufen hinauf. 

Leider liegen hier Vorstellung und Wirklichkeit nahe auseinander. Ich selbst finde Kerzen romantisch, wer nicht? Sonst würde man sich diese Dekoration nicht aussuchen. Doch als Braut denkt man anscheinend zuerst an sein Brautkleid und, dass man nicht in Flammen aufgeht. Diese Angst überwiegt immer, bei jeder Braut und zeitweise auch bei Kranzldamen und Gästen. Ein ausladendes Kleid und eine Kerze ergibt im Kopf Feuer! Deswegen überlegen Sie sich Kerzen am Stiegenaufgang noch einmal ganz genau. Ich habe in den letzten Jahren niemanden erlebt, der am Hochzeitstag eine Freude damit hatte.

I often meet florists and decorateurs who love to decorate the staircase. Nevertheless it means more money for them. They take flowers, garlands and often candles to make a beautiful staircase. The bridal pair love to book this decoartions because of very romantic pictures and the imagination of a gorgeous trellis. I also like the decorated staircase, with flowers, bows, etc. But I will never recommend candles!

A lot of styled shoot wedding pics work with light. There are beautiful pics with candles surrounding the bridal pair. The make wonderful effects and a romantic flair. So I understand, that most bridal pairs decide for candles when it comes to decorating the staircase. But this is the point where fiction never meets reality! Most people at a wedding don't like candles were they go around. The only effect, candles at the staircase have, is panic! Every bride is busy working on their dress to keep it away from the fire. The huge skirt, the many layers of tulle. The bride isn't comfortable of walking up- or downstairs. Additionally, I often see the bridemaids or guests who are also in fear of the candles. Well, they look good on picutres, but never make a comfortable feeling. They don't work on the wedding day. Because noone wants to see the bride on fire!
